I just want to point out that the 10 day old figured out what the 8000 day old professional mage couldn't. Not, like, in time to do anything about it, but still.

Re: Dedicated OOC Chat Thread
I am no Diabolist either , but to improve our player suffering skills, I think the correct sequence should have been:
Trigger (Silent) Alarm, Protection by Infliction, Area Effect, Burning Agony.
Edit: the alarm is localized, but the infliction has an area of effect.
Not knowing the size of the base yet, if we keep running into these type of wards, they will most likely kill Aimee unless her true name is inscribed on the wards.

Re: Dedicated OOC Chat Thread
Okay, a question before posting. Are any of the crab warriors paying any attention to Ben? Or are they all heading toward the rest of the team? Also, did Ben see any of the effects of the ward being triggered? I think it is just a physical manifestation of symptoms, not something readily visible, but want to make sure. Final question, how fast are the crabs moving? I will assume not faster than Ben's top speed underwater of 40 MPH, but would still like to be sure.

2. No.
3. They move faster in the water than your teammates, but not as fast as your PA, and nowhere near as fast as Cuda, or Seamount.

Cuda still needs to post, so I'll hold off on the GM post until Sunday, Monday at the very latest--Monday's the "too damn bad, but I'm posting anyway" cut-off.

So, sorry about not getting the post up yesterday, folks. My car took a dump on me which resulted in a very long, very bad day at work that didn't end until I got home at 7pm...at which point I just washed, ate, and went to bed.
GM post will go up tonight.

• Airlock takes three actions to cycle, ergo if Watcher starts the cycle on action 1 no one can access the airlock on actions 2 and 3.
^ That's from my old "airlock policy" from my days in the Roughnecks.

Re: Dedicated OOC Chat Thread
Augur,
You had me double-checking my ward magic a bit there. I was all 'why did they only get zapped once?' and was about to try and talk you into giving them the rest of the missing 'love' from subsequent rounds. Then I double-checked the Agony ward and noted it was one of the few that don't hit that way.
Amusing to see Diabolist Wards in action in Rifts though, very interesting!

Yeah, I've always liked making Rifts a truly diverse world where almost everything is possible, but when it comes to player characters dying, I'd rather they get themselves killed than for me to just murder them outright, so when I do play fast and loose with the rules, it's usually in order to give players a second chance at staying alive.

Re: Dedicated OOC Chat Thread
Just so it's clear between last round's contingencies and this round's actions Watcher isn't trying to both stay behind with the door and go forward. It's looking for something (pipe, crate, length of chain, rope, etc) with which to block the inner hatch or tie the door open in the hopes that a safety system will keep the airlock cycle from starting while the inner hatch is open.

I shall give Ben one extra day to post. If he has not done so, he may find that the Crabs are quite capable of taking apart his PA without these.
Re: Dedicated OOC Chat Thread
My sincere apologies, folks!
I must bow out of the game due to serious health issues in the family.
Good luck, and it was a pleasure gaming with you all! Hopefully, if Augur is willing, I can come back at some point when the crisis is resolved. Though, with my admittedly lackluster posts, I wouldn't be at all surprised if that is not the case.

Well-played... well-played.
Guess that'll teach us to take things (Amie) at face value. And perhaps a cautionary tale for where old pointy-ears should be sticking his sword .

Two questions:
- Augur, do you want us to post 2 rounds of actions, or just deduct 2 rounds of duration from active abilities?
- For the circle, are there objects lying on/within the circle, or are they embedded in the circle?

Re: Dedicated OOC Chat Thread
Folks, I posted in the GM post that I advanced things by two melee rounds...that's past tense.
Just post your own normal one round posts unless Brian (Ronith's player) states that he does not plan on anything offensive. Brian, if you want to dialog a bit more, just give me a time frame for how long you're willing to talk and we can all work with that.
Beltin's detached from the group's core, so him posting for two rounds is just sensible. Ergo, unless Brian has Ronith attack immediately, you can, at the least, get in one round of dialog/actions before he arrives.

In the absence of any obvious threat to the team or Amie, Ronith is happy to stall for time until Beltin gets there. If his sixth sense triggers, I'll just go with my previously-posted combat actions so I don't have to redo all that junk.Augur wrote:Beltin's detached from the group's core, so him posting for two rounds is just sensible. Just FYI, I haven't forgotten y'all! I should be getting a post up tomorrow.
Last weekend of each month Roll20 dominates a good chunk of my time, and H4H's combat posts are always the most challenging to complete at the level of quality you've come to expect of me.

Well it was a week more than expected but I finally have time off. Yaay! I'm also quite lost as to what's going on, which given Watcher's age is appropriate. If anyone has some suggestions they want to give me on what to do I'm open to it. I'd like to post monday night, tuesday morning at the very latest.

Re: Dedicated OOC Chat Thread
Boring McFunKiller (you might know him as Grant) points out that a mystic portal is one way so I guess I'll need to come up with a new post. I'd always thought the one way bit was a third option of what you can do with the spell but I looked at the various source books and found a more clearly written version in HU2. So yeah, I'll get on that as soon as I get back in touch with my inner child which SOMEONE turned into a withered husk.
