"Sebastion. We can barely move our heads here. The down-thrust of the Barge is pinning us down. You need to manoeuvre to the side or fall back a bit. Try and get back into formation right before we hit the exit. Over."
Upon hearing Shane's request, Sebastion lets off the thrust and starts to fall back to the rear of the APC. While doing so, he looked for any monsters below him. If there are any
below him and there are no companions in the path, Sebastion will either reduce the thrust and drop on top of one of them or push them off the top of the APC.

Clay hears Conner's request, but instead of dropping to the ground, he jumps high into the air. The jet assistance from his Cyclone propelling him forward and up, while the momentum of the vehicle he was riding keeps him in synch, for when he lands on the creature. Hopping off the Creature Reaper kicks with all his might, "Get off my ride!" The leg arcs high in order to kick the creature off the vehicle and into the abyss.

If the kick doesn't kick the creature off...

Reaper, kicks on the powerful thrusters of his Cyclone and body checks the creature, in hopes to knock it off the hover vehicle.

Inside the Chuck Wagon
-----Hearing something below, Hienrich takes his IV bag with him and goes below to see what the commotion's all about. Cale curses as the realization that his ride is now the home of an inter-dimensional monster strikes home. He radios Baker to notify him of the new situation and as he's speaking he sees the ground start to burst upward in front of the APC. Cale floors it and the APC just clears the rising mound without snapping the rear axle. Unfortunately, the pressure sensor on the APC's instrument panel shows that the tow-bar pulling the ATV snapped. To add mayhem to misery, there's a thirty-odd foot tall, three-headed worm-beast of some sort that's caused these issues—and it's attacking the party as they drive past, likely looking for a snack. Caradoc internally gripes about the rest of the group always having the fun while he does math problems or tends to a wounded idiot when Cale and Baker exchange news of the intruder. Khan's sixth sense flares like a nova and he turns to see that Hienrich has left the upper deck during the tumult and confusion. Fearing the worst, he draws his sword as he turns. Hienrich's feet hit the cold deck and he looks to his right, the IV bag he's carrying over his head so that gravity will keep feeding him the wonderful drugs that Dr. Cai Caradoc has prescribed. He sees the ripple of something blue move through the translucent material of the bag and so is spared the sight of the giant blue maw and it's double row of teeth as they clamp down over his head and end his wretched existence. Now this will just never do, here you've gotten your blood all over me yet again you filthy blue beast mutters Jazeraint to Hienrich's departing consciousness.
-----Caradoc turns and draws his sidearm as he climbs out of the co-pilot's station. Khan hears a depressing, sickening crunch and what sounds like a carton of milk being dropped on the deck below as he bolts down the short stairwell to the main deck. There he sees Hienrich's headless corpse pooling blood across the deck and a large monster hulking just beyond the foot of the stairs. A blood vessel bursts behind one of his eyes as he flings the beast (who must weigh at least 600 lbs.) down the length of the bay. The beast recovers quickly from the telekinetic throw and does its best to charge back its kill. Red-splotched tufts of blue for can be seen stuck to the corners of its gore streaked maw. Caradoc lands right behind Khan and is dismissed to see so much of his hard work gone to such a fruitless end.
-----The monster charges forward and Khan gashes its arm with his vibro-sword. Caradoc, finding no cover in the stairwell, backs up a few of the steps cautiously. The monster slams Khan bodily into a bulkhead, rattling him in his suit like a dry bean. Khans responds smartly by manifesting a protective psychic body field around his form which looks in the odd light of the APC interior like a form-fitting aura of party glitter. Caradoc does the heretofore unthinkable and blasts the monster at nearly point-blank range. The ion blast nearly drills a hole in the chest of the beast and it stumbles back a half-step, clearly confused by the situation.
(-16 M.D.C. to the Right Arm of Khan's armor; Hienrich is dead with no hope of recovery, resurrection, or revival; -1 shot Caradoc's gun.)

Image

Inside the Hoversled
Sebastion eases off the thrusters a bit and when he notices the monstrous worm-beast rise from the ground (thirty feet high!) he swerves hard to the right to avoid crashing directly into it. The Roughnecks atop the APC look none the worse for wear and he lauds himself as one helluva driver as he skirts the hoversled around the beast and moves to pass.

Outside
-----Conner and Reaper can both still hear the sounds of the squishy things gouging and boring through their armor to get inside. Ramien blasts at the backside of the beast again but the erratic motions of the APC make it hard enough to just stay atop the vehicle and her shot goes wide by dozens of feet. Conner freaks out just a little bit but manages enough sensibility to know to let go of his railgun long enough to wipe the ichor from his helmet's visor with his hand. Shane pulls himself back up and radios the Roughnecks to keep them apprised as Baker does much the same. Reaper trigger's his suit's jet-assist thrusters and leap-kicks the beast sharing the top of the Hoversled with him. The foul creature's instincts were like that of a Zentraedi and instead of attempting to evade his blow, the beast gouges at his leg with a swipe of its clawed hands even as it's sent hurtling to its likely doom. For a brief moment all seems still and well save for the greasy things chewing on Reaper and Conner's respective armors. Then the ground swells and suddenly bursts from under the rear of the Chuck Wagon.
Image
-----Ramien is jolted from her footing and falls, nearly bouncing off the roof and into the dark abyss but a timely grab by Shane yanks back from the edge and she rapidly regains her warrior's stance. As the Hoversled begins to pass the worm-beast its three heads lash out at Ramien, Conner, and Shane taking bites of composite and gouging their armored suits in an attempt to dislodge or snare one of them with a bite. Ramien, while able to parry the beast's lunges with her tremendous strength, instead goes on her warrior instinct and punishes the monster's elongated trunks with multiple blasts from her rifle. She takes care only to keep from being drug off the APC, enduring the physical blows in true warrior fashion. Conner manages to duck in time to avoid the snapping bite of one of the giant worm's gaping maws and lets loose with a wicked barrage of metallic slugs into the the same worm-head as Ramien, felling one of them like a tree with his last burst. It's at this time that he notices his ATV is teeter-tottering precariously on the side of the ridge, the busted tow-bar dangling over the abyss from the front of the vehicle. Shane manages to adroitly sidestep the blows from the same worm-head. While avoiding that one however, he is nearly torn to bits by the third and nearly knocked unconscious from the battering last blow to his suit's helmet. Baker and Reaper provide withering cover-fire as the two vehicles surge past the now two-headed worm-hydra. The orifice is opening ahead and the vehicles are still on time to make the opening and plow through to the lush green scene beyond.

Shocked and distraught at losing his new friend and teammate, Dr. Cai Caradoc sheds his glee and takes on the visage of a mad man bent on revenge. As he peers through the sights of his insanely powerful ion pistol, time seems to slow down and thoughts explode in his mind like fireworks.

The good times they had together... Hienrich trying doggedly to teach the doc new card tricks... winning money from the doc every time they played... telling his funny jokes... keeping Khan at bay when he got on Caradoc's nerves... all those memories, all those moments in time... lost.

I barely knew him, but he was my friend. He was in my care. I should have protected him. No one... NO ONE dies under my care! I'm sending this thing back where it came from... back to oblivion!

"Die you foul beast! Down to the depths of this fetid blue hell with you! FOR HIENRICH!"

With his left arm reaching out and hand clenched, a wave of regret and hatred wash over Conner as he sees his Big Boss teeter on the brink of oblivion.

I hope it gives you indigestion you blue magot from hell!

Calling over the radio. "Ah Shane, I hope you didn't have anything too important in the Boss. It looks like it isn't going to get out of this place."

With anger flooding his mind, Conner grabs the railgun and is about to inflict as much damage as he can one last time before leaving this blue-ish nightmare when he feels the pounding from Reaper getting the slimy things off of him.

We could have taken care of those things after we got out of this place. We have a bigger problem at this moment if you can't tell. He thinks through gritted teeth.

Conner is torn between venting his anger with the railgun or helping rid his new teammate of a parasite problem. Taking one second to long to think about it, he finally throws his gun to the side and reaches over to Reaper to de-slug him. If by chance he gets rid of the slugs before they exit, Conner will grab the railgun and unleash a burst wildly on the worm thing they have been stuck in now for way to long amount of time.

While the two on top of the other vehicle try to de-bug themselves, he'll take care of the giant beast behind them. Sidestepping Shane and Ramien, his cover-fire will sporadically go on, using the energy-source embedded in his armor.
"Shane, Ramien, take a look at the front while I cover our back."

Seeing the Big Boss being drawn away, he'll radio to Conner...

"Conner, this is Baker. Sad to see your hauler going deep, but I hope it hurts the monstrocity we're in. We'll buy you a new one, if you want, as soon as possible!"

There's no chance, at this moment, to know if his words are a little help for the tech, but still they're coming near the orifice - and he starts radioing once more.

"Roughnecks, this is Baker. We're closing in, maybe short of a homecoming. There's no time to stop the vehicles and enter them - might cost our lives. Could be better if those of you outside dropping flat on the ground, as Sebastion might want to get in position again." and after another look around, he'll start getting into position - if the situation is safe enough for it.

With his concentration raised to the maximum, Sebastion managed to dodge the hydra looking monster as it smashed out of the ground. He hears the noise of the snapping tow bar leaving the ATV behind, but he didn't even think about it or have time to look back. Survival and escape at this point were far more important than recovering any valuables. Sebastion couldn't stand to live another minute inside the belly of the beast. Outside, atop the Vehicles
Reaper and Conner manage to remove the slick and disgusting creatures from their armor suits with just enough time left over to grab the top of the hoversled and hold on for dear life. Baker sends a few blasts of concentrated ion beams into the form of the retreating monster before sizing up the situation and quickly getting as low down as possible. Shane presses himself down flat as the vehicles roar past the reach of the monster's extremities and toward the brilliantly lit orifice ahead and keep his weapons trained forward while on his belly. Ramien stays prone and closes her eyes, uncertain of what's to come next. At the last second, she unconsciously takes a deep breath and holds it.

Inside the Hoversled
Sebastion and Rambler juke and dodge the hoversled as best they can while maintaining a tight formation with the Chuck Wagon below.

Inside the Chuck Wagon
Khan's mind manifests a fireball from out of thin air which blasts the beast and sends shockwaves of ambient heat throughout the enclosed space. Sweat beads spontaneously erupt and the congealing blood on the deck rapidly dries into a brown mess. Simultaneously, Caradoc lets out an uncharacteristic roar and blasts the monster and winces as the waves of heat wash over him. The monster seems to become translucent for a moment then sinks into the deck of the vehicle like a ghost and a second later is whisked through the rear hatch and is gone. Cale floors it as he sees the orifice's diameter reach its zenith and begin to close again.

Three hundred feet...

Two hundred feet...

One hundred feet...

The two vehicles manage to squeeze through the blindingly bright iris and burst forth into a new world. Reaper is nearly torn from the top of the Hoversled as the top of the orifice closed down on the back of his armored-suit-cycle thing. The Chuck Wagon jars violently and everyone save Cale is thrown brutally around the interior and slammed up and down. A short while later, all motion stops and everything seems settled and calm. The interior of the APC is no longer tinted in blue and a natural-seeming light can be seen pouring down from the upper deck where Cale sits.

Cyclone: The right secondary thruster is heavily damaged (down to 0 M.D.C.; use of the thrusters will require a piloting skill roll with a HEFTY modifier; will require custom-made parts and some delicate repairs).
